Rs1b approved for UoO extension

OKARA - The Punjab government has approved Rs1 billion for first phase of the extension project of University of Okara (UoO) and the drawings of the proposed new building including academic block, auditorium, mosque and hostel.

This was stated by UoO Registrar Dr Wajid, SDO Building Sajid Rasheed and Director Development Habib Jilani during a briefing to Sahiwal division Commissioner Ali Bahadur Qazi on Thursday. Okara DPO Hassan Asad Alvi was present on the occasion.

Dr Wajid apprised the meeting of the demands concerning education and the security situation at the university. The commissioner formally approved the PC-1 plan for the construction of the proposed university's buildings. He visited the security control room, inspected functioning of the CCTV cameras and the walkthrough gates installed to ensure foolproof security on the premises of the university. The commissioner found some of the cameras out of order and ordered to get repaired all the security related apparatus.
