ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday once again adjourned the foreign funding case hearing on the request of PTI.
The case hearing was adjourned till March 1 as the PTI’s lawyer Anwar Mansoor Khan, through his junior lawyer, urged for it saying he was busy in other case hearings before the Supreme Court.
On February first, he had also sought adjournment due to his ill health.
The petitioner and PTI founding member Akbar S Babar's lawyer Syed Ahmad Hassan Shah protested over yet another adjournment sought by the PTI lawyer. He said during the last seven years since the case was filed, the PTI had sought at least 24 adjournments on similar or other grounds which the ECP in its order of October 10, 2019 had termed as 'historical abuse of law' to delay the case.
Syed Ahmad Hassan Shah said now that the case had reached a decisive stage, PTI has once again resorted to filing frivolous applications besides seeking unwarranted adjournment to delay the case. He also said that the detailed review of the Scrutiny Committee Report is complete and ready for presentation. However, a forensic analysis of the records requistioned through the State Bank of Pakistan and other documents shared with the petitioner by February 7th is now in progress.
