KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced Rs100,000 each for the heirs of those who died in North Karachi fire incident. This he announced on Friday while visiting the site of incident in which more than 42 people were killed and several sustained injuries. Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and said that the government had ordered a probe into the incident under the supervision of DIG Police West Abdul Majeed, who would submit a report within a week. Later, Sindh Chief Minister visited a nearby school in which survivors of the incident were given shelter. Qaim Ali Shah inquired about the health of survivors and assured them that the government is providing treatment to the injured and taking care of the affectees. Qaim Ali Shah said the government is considering to regularise Kachi Abadis besides shifting the inmates of huts of various areas to alternate places near Port Qasim. Sindh Minister Nadia Gabol, Advisor to CM Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mahadi, Sharmila Farooqi, PPP Karachi President Faisal Raza Abidi and others were also present on the occasion.
