Five persons including a PTI leader were killed and four others sustained injuries in different in incidents here on Thursday.

According to details, in Sargodha, two persons died of severe electric shocks and three others badly injured when a tube-well boring crane touched live electric wires accidentally.

According to sources, workers were busy digging a well with the help of a crane in village Thathi Muzalam, Shahpur Tehsil. All of sudden the crane hit a live wire of a streetlight pole. Resultantly, five persons sustained severe electric shocks, later two of them namely Mohammad Javed and Ramzan breathed their last while the three others including the crane driver shifted to DHQ Hospital. The deceased are said to be uncle and nephew.

In Mandi Bahauddin, a student namely Bilal of Government Degree College sustained gunshot wounds while his father Iqbal died in a firing incident which took place in suburban village Lalyani Pindi. The reason behind the firing incident is said to be old enmity.

Later, the injured took the dead body of his father to the city and placed it in front of college in protest where other students also joined him.

The students demanded the police to register and arrest the accused forthwith. According to students the police showed reluctance to register a case when the grieved party approached them. The students continued protest for about two to three hours till the police accepted their demand for registration of case and arrest of the accused within 24 hours.

In another incident, a man died in hit and run road accident. Reportedly, 25-year-old Bashir, working as naib qasid in a private school, was on the way back home after duty, on Old Rasul Road. Meanwhile, he was hit by an unidentified motorcyclist. As result he sustained fatal injuries. He was being taken to DHQ hospital but he succumbed to injuries on way. The motorcyclist after accident fled away the scene.

Meanwhile, in Sangla Hill, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Tehsil office bearer and candidate for UC Longo Waal Muhammad Shehbaz, was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists in brought daylight here. The killers managed to escape after committing the crime. The police shifted the dead body to THQ Hospital for autopsy and started investigation.
