LAHORE - The Lahore High Court sought assistance of the Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocate General of Pakistan over the matter of judicial allowance for the lower courts employees.

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah was hearing the case on Thursday. The petitioners’ counsel Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique submitted that judicial allowance was given to the employees of superior courts only and the lower courts employees were not granted the same perk.

He argued that it was against the law and tantamount to discrimination.

He requested the court to direct the government for granting judicial allowance to the lower courts employees as well, so that they could meet their basic financial needs. The case was adjourned until January 16.
