ISLAMABAD - The non-medical employees of Federal Government Services Hospital, Polyclinic, observed a token strike for an hour against the alleged attack on one of their colleagues.

The administration constituted a two-member inquiry committee to look into the issue. And the employees on assurance of the inquiry committee of providing justice called off their token strike.

The employees had given the call of strike on Wednesday after three doctors, according to them, attacked the chairman of joint action committee of employees, Raja Ilyas, early afternoon. According to information, the doctors attacked Raja Ilyas for protesting against the doctors for not performing their duties. They said the doctors do not perform their duties and lower employees bear the brunt as a family of a deceased had beaten up the security guard when the doctors were not on duty to perform autopsy.

The employees of administrative block boycotted their duties for an hour while outpatient department (OPD) and other departments of the hospital functioned normally.

The employees resumed their work after the assurances of the inquiry committee.
