Newborn baby kidnapped from PIMS hospital

Islamabad- Newborn baby from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital has been abducted; the family has accused the hospital staff of conspiracy. They have blocked the Islamabad Expressway for all kind of traffic.

According to reports, Shahiza a resident of Alipur, gave birth to a child on Friday evening at the gynecology ward of the hospital and was later shifted to general ward. An unknown woman came to ward in the presence of attendant at midnight and escaped with the Baby.

After the abduction the family blaming the staff for their involvement in the kidnapping of the baby has demanded for the arrest of criminal. The administration denied the charged and said that callous attitude of parents was the cause of the incident.

A five member committee has been made for investigating the incident and security supervisor and staff of gyne ward have been made part of it. Police has detained sanitary worker, two guards and shifted them to Margalla police Station for further inquiry.

Meanwhile the family members protesting the incident have blocked Islamabad Expressway from Zero point to Faisal Mosque and closed express highway for traffic. Due to blockage of highway, traffic jammed has occurred causing long lines of cars.
