Quetta - The District Police Officer (DPO) Awaran and his guards escaped a gun attack on Saturday while two police officials were arrested on murder charges in Quetta.
DPO Aziz Jhakarani and his guards were on a patrol in the area when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them. Police guards retaliated and forced the assailants to retreat. After the incident, police cordoned off the area, however, no arrests could be made till the filing of this report.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested SHO Kharotabad, Muhammad Ejaz, and assistant sub-inspector Muhammad Hafiz for their alleged involvement in the murder of a citizen.
Abdullah, a resident of Qilla Abdullah, was killed by unidentified man on Mekal Road three days back. Following the incident, the police carried out investigation collecting evidence from CCTV cameras. During the investigation, all evidence proved that the two police officials were behind the killing. The police have taken physical custody of the suspected officials and investigation is underway.
