NPT for following Sunnah

LAHORE - The speakers on the inaugural day of a two-day Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference have emphasised that the only way to earn Allah’s pleasure is to follow in the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who was sent as a teacher to the whole humanity.
“An ideal Muslim’s personality exudes a charisma that draws everyone to him. The social, political and economic tenets of Islam, if followed sincerely, can really create a utopian society. If we follow the words and actions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with devotion and enthusiasm, we will be blessed with divine favour and blessings,” said the speakers during the conference held at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan yesterday.
The conference was organised by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.
The proceedings of the conference were conducted by Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed with NPT chairman Rafique Tarar in the chair. The speakers included NPT vice chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, Justice (r) Khalilur Rehman Khan and Justice (r) Munir Ahmad Mughal.
In his presidential address, Rafique Tarar observed that the Muslims ruled the world as long as they followed the true and immortal teachings of Islam. It was alchemy of Islam that had effected the miraculous transformation of ignorant Arabs into ideal rulers, he added. “Hazrat Umar (RA) observed that he would be held accountable on the Day of Judgement if a dog on the banks of Euphrates died of hunger. Gandhi sent the copies of “Al-Farooque” to chief ministers of the Congress government in 7 provinces after 1934 elections,” Tarar observed.
Dr Rafique Ahmad dwelt on the Quaid-i-Azam’s devotion and dedication to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Islam. Pakistan was the product of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) grace and favour, the Quaid-i-Azam once observed, he added.
“The Islamic values are a source of great moral and spiritual power,” said Dr Rafique, adding that the treaty of Madina is an exemplary document in many respects.
Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali highlighted the advantages of truthfulness, saying that a lie was only permissible to ingratiate an angry wife, to reconcile two warring factions and as war strategy.
Justice (r) Khalilul Rehman Khan emphasised the need for fully comprehending the Allah’s commandment contained in the Holy Quran.
Justice (r) Munir Ahmad Mughal observed that the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provide guidance in every sphere of life and must be adhered to in order to bring about a change for good.
