LAHORE - A three-year-old boy was burnt alive when fire broke out inside a house in Iqbal Town on Tuesday evening, rescue workers said.
Firefighters said the child identified as Muhammad Subhan had died by the time they responded to the emergency. However, rescue workers managed to put out the blaze within 30 minutes. According to the family, the fire erupted inside the kitchen due to gas heater and spread to other portions of the building within minutes.
The child was playing in the kitchen when the blaze erupted. As a result, he died on the spot. Authorities were investigating the incident.

The Punjab Emergency Service (PES or Rescue-1122) provided services to 533 victims of 795 accidents in the province during the last 24 hours, APP reported. The statistics show that 218 accidents were reported in Lahore with 319 victims, 58 in Gujranwala with 55 injured and 54 in Faisalabad with 62 victims.
According to the data, 626 motorbikes, 113 auto-rickshaws, 69 motorcars, 44 vans, 12 passenger buses, 24 trucks and 93 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the said traffic accidents. Rescue 1122 staffers have shifted all injured to different hospitals of the province.
