Corrupt police book defiant raped woman

SIALKOT-Daska police have registered a case against a rape victim after allegedly taking bribe from the accused so as to pressurise her for having a forced patch-up with the alleged rapists.
The police have registered a case (17/2018) under section 213 PPC against the victim on the report of Sub Inspector Akram. The FIR revealed that village Kaanwaan Lit-based married woman was abducted by four armed accused including Boota and they took her to a nearby brick kiln, where Boota forcibly raped her at gunpoint on October 23, 2017. On her report, the police had registered a case against accused Boota and his three accomplices.
The FIR revealed that the victim later took a heavy amount from accused Boota and his companions and patched up with them. She also recorded her statement before the local court in Daska in favour of the accused and withdrew her case against.
PROJECT LEFT INCOMPLETE. The sports stadium project in Chawinda , Pasrur tehsil has been left incomplete and neglected for the last several years by the government.
The stadium is meant to promote sports, games and other health activities but it still remains a safe place for the local addicts and grazing land for the cattle due official negligence.
Its rooms have become the safe place for the local addicts while the grass is also lying untrimmed due to which cattle head are often found grazing there. The prolonged paucity of funds is resulting in the suspension of construction work for the last four years.
The Punjab government had approved the project of establishing the sports stadium at Chawinda, Pasrur tehsil, the area’s only stadium for promoting the sports, games and other healthy activities. The government had allocated Rs20 million for the project but it has been left incomplete for the last four years due to paucity of the funds.
The local social, educational, sports and political circles have expressed grave concern over the situation. They urged the government to look into the matter and ensure early completion of the stadium.
