'Khiladi' Motion Comic series on cricket released

‘Khiladi’ brings you cricket like you have never experienced before. The comic series has been a favorite among teens and young adults ever since its release in Feb 2016. Fans became enthralled by the gripping emotional story of young Murad, an U-19 cricketer fighting his way through poverty on the basis of raw talent, and his childhood friend the enigmatic Taimur Malik, a young batsmen raised with a silver spoon but with cricket in his genes. Thousands of copies have been sold nationwide and read on the CFx Comics Android app, and now the hit storyline is being released as a motion comic series.

This will be the first motion comics series in Pakistan's history, another feather in the cap for the pioneering CFx Comics platform. The low cost medium of motion comics itself is primarily designed for digital content consumption on Facebook and YouTube. Act 1 of the Khiladi motion comics series has an 8 episode story arc, and has been sponsored by Pepsi Pakistan as part of its Future11 campaign. The series have been released on the Pepsi Pakistan YouTube Page.

It is 2D animated, and its anime style feel has generated a lot of hype. It could very well be that given the excellent response to the series, corporate brands may decide to release further episodes in full 2D animation. Either way, this promises exciting times for the local animation and content development.

‘Khiladi’ is a tale of friendship, honor, and triumph. Through the comic, readers will understand the struggles of U-19 players who dream of playing for their country. It also shed light on the experiences and challenges they face to gain international stardom and glory.

Like the critically acclaimed ‘Paasban – the Guardian’ and the ‘Haider’ series, ‘Khiladi’ would also feature on the CFx Comics app which is a digital comic store that lets young readers discover new comics and fall in love with captivating stories, presented in an immersive guided-view experience; including background music and special effects. Never before has cricket been experienced through this innovative medium!
