HAFIZABAD - The Kuriala villagers have protested against the deteriorating condition of Bhoon-Kuriala Road and called upon the local parliamentarians and the government to ensure its early repair to provide them with better communicational facilities.

They regretted that the village population consisting of over 10,000 inhabitants had been neglected altogether due to political rivalry and no civic amenity has been provided for them. They said that the Saaf Dehaat Programme had been launched in the district but their village had been ignored. There are heaps of filth and garbage here and there and also near the Jamia Masjid Siddique causing inconvenience to the Namazis. They have called upon the authorities concerned to pay special attention to provide civic amenities in the village. On the other side, Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed urged doctors and paramedical staff in the District Headquarter Hospital Hafizabad to be courteous towards the patients and ensure the best possible medical treatment.

Addressing the physicians, surgeons and paramedical staff after making surprise visit to the DHQ Hospital, she said that that the newly-constructed emergency ward may be made functional on modern lines. She said that stressed a need for further improvement in the hospital affairs. She said that she would not tolerate unnecessary local purchase of medicines in the presence of medicines in the store and also to utilise the equipment lying packed. She ordered special audit of the amount so far spent in this respect. She reprimanded over lack of heaters in the Nursery Ward and ordered that heaters should be made functional in operation theater, labour room, children ward and nursery to save them from vagary of cold weather.

She directed Medical Superintendent Rehan Azhar to prepare comprehensive strategy to convert the hospital into a model hospital and ensure all possible medical services to the patients particularly ensure due respect to the female patients.
