Official activities resume in Bara after 12 years

KHYBER AGENCY - Various departments have resumed their official activities in Bara after 12 years.

The formal announcement was made at a gathering here in Khyber Agency and the ceremony was attended by Assistant Political Agent (APA) Bara Ismatullah Wazir and many others.

A large number of tribal elders and the administration officials also attended the ceremony. The APA cut the ribbon as the chief guest to formally recommence the tehsil for all kinds of activities.

Speaking on the occasion, APA Ismatullah Wazir said the opening ceremony of the tehsil proved that the peace had been restored in Bara. He said NADRA centre and other concerned offices will start working soon.

During militancy in the area, these offices had been shifted to the safer places, he said.

He maintained that earlier Bara Bazaar had been resumed for business activities and in the near future, routine life would restore in Bara.

Tribesmen of Bara expressed their delight over the resumption of tehsil. They said with the reopening, their grievances would be addressed locally and they would not go to Levies centre, Jamrud for the resolve of their problems.

It is to be mentioned here that the tehsil was dislocated to Levies centre, Jamrud due to militancy.
