LAKKI MARWAT - The authorities of district administration have sealed three illegal stone crushing plants in Darra Pezu town of the district, said an official on Tuesday.
“The action was initiated on the directives of Bannu divisional commissioner Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah”, said an official, adding that the decision to launch action against illegal crushing plants and mining across the province was taken in the meeting chaired by the Provincial Chief Secretary in Peshawar. The official said that local deputy commissioner Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan tasked the relevant officials to visit Pezu town to seal illegal crushing plants. "During the visit, the officials learned that three stone crushing plants owned by Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam, Sabz Ali and Haji Fareed Khan located near Ahmad Khan Banda are functioning without having renewed their relevant documents,” he maintained.
He said that the officials sealed the crushing plants and directed the owners to renew their licenses from industries department. Quoting a report of assistant director mining, he said that no activity of illegal mining was taking place in the district.
Meanwhile, local leaders of JUI-F have announced that they had not forged an alliance with Saifullah brothers on national and three provincial assembly seats for upcoming general elections.
Talking to media men after district shura meeting here at party’s office in Lakki city, District General Secretary Maulana Samiullah Mujahid and others did not rule out the possibility of an alliance with influential Saifullahs and said that there was the dire need for confidence-building measures between both sides before forging into an electoral alliance.
He said that poll alliance at the local level was not on agenda of the meeting nor the participants discussed the matter. Flanked by JUI-F District Ameer Maulana Abdul Rahim and Naurang Tehsil Nazim Maulana Ezazullah, he said that JUI-F would repeat the history of 2002 and would clean sweep next general elections on all seats in the district. “The religious parties’ alliance (MMA) will form the next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he maintained, adding that PTI rulers cannot buy the loyalties of clerics by tempting them with payment of honorarium.
Maulana Mujahid opposed the payment of honorarium to Ulema and strongly criticised the local authorities concerned for collecting the data of clerics for honorarium without their consent.
The JUI-F leadership has already rejected the honorarium announced by the provincial government, therefore, local authorities concerned should refrain from pressurizing clerics for the provision of their credentials or filling relevant forms”, he added.
He warned that JUI-F activists would launch a protest if disrespect to clerics and prayer leaders was not stopped immediately. He also said that the religious party had the right to claim the credit of approving university in Lakki Marwat.
“The former Prime Minister Sharif who visited Bannu district last year on the invitation of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman had announced setting up a varsity in the district”, he claimed and accused the provincial government of delaying the release of funds for the purchase of land for the university.
