ISLAMABAD: Justice Gulzar Ahmad has remarked why the government is taking no steps to stop population growth’

He further remarked job opportunities are not being created in private sector and lack of jobs is a big challenge.

A two members bench of Supreme Court (SC) comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Qazi Faez Isa took up for hearing chief minister House Punjab employees case Wednesday.

Justice Gulzar remarked “ how will we come out of the challenge of shortage of jobs. Governments are confused. Taking steps for stopping population growth is responsibility of the government too. They will take where the thousands of students who are leaving universities every year after completing their education.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa inquired from counsel of Punjab government “ tell us what is the law under which contract employees of CM house were regularized.

Additional Advocate General Punjab Asima Hamid said the contract employees are regularized by relaxing the rules. No clear rule is there for regularizing contract employees.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked the low grade employees should be appointed on regular basis rather than on contract basis.

The court while directing Punjab government to file more documents within two weeks adjourned the hearing of the case.
