ISLAMABAD - As part of pre-cautionary measures, Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has started special anti-seasonal diseases drive in the slum settlements to ensure protection of life the people living in the slum areas. Drive has been started on the special directive of Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmad. In this regard, a medical team headed by District Health officer Dr. Amir zada Khan visited G-7 slum settlement on Wednesday and conducted vaccination against the seasonal diseases and anti-mosquito spray was also conducted in the area. The District Health Officer has also set up a free medical camp in the slum area for providing medical facilities to the area dwellers. Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmad said that mobile medical teams would conduct special visits of slum and rural areas constantly throughout the monsoon season to provide medical cover to the settlers of slum areas. He informed that the CDA and District Health Officer of ICT was jointly starting this campaign to ensure medical cover for the poor people of these areas. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner (city) Maryam Khan and Assistant Director of Local Government, ICT, also conducted visits of slum areas along with medical team and provided treatment facility to the people.
