KARACHI - MQM legislators in the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday said that growing threat of Talibanization in the province as well as in Karachi was the biggest challenge for the country and nation. In their joint statement, they said that the people of Sindh province, especially the inhabitants of the metropolis, would not accept Talibanization to take roots in the province. "Majority of the citizens of Karachi are the Muslims and they do not need Kalashnikov and bamboo sticks for imposition of Sharia", they said. The legislators further said the elements bent on making Karachi metropolis the fort of religious extremism were hatching conspiracy against the economy of the country. They demanded of the CM and Governor Sindh and provincial Home Minister to take serious notice of the advent of religious extremists in the city and adopt concrete steps to foil the conspiracy of Talibanization in the metropolis.
