ISLAMABAD - Security in the federal capital has been further tightened and Islamabad Police have started strict checking at all entry and exit points in the city, including all sensitive and public places, to ensure protection of life and property of the citizens. Senior Superintendent of Police Captain (Retd) Ahmad Latif has directed all Station House Officers to conduct strict checking in their respective areas and be extra vigilant. Islamabad Police and Rescue 15 had also enhanced patrolling in the federal capital. Following the directives of the SSP, the SHOs have started strict checking of vehicles at the exit and entry points of the city. Police have also started checking of hotels, motels, restaurants, inns, and bus stands and strict vigilance and surveillance was being maintained to check the suspicious vehicles and persons. On receiving information, Golra Police also intercepted a suspicious vehicle in Islamabad on Tuesday while hotel owners have been directed to keep the particulars of the visitors. Similarly, motor dealers and property dealers have also been directed that they should not rent the property to unknown persons and all the particulars of the customers be maintained properly and forwarded to the police stations concerned for security purpose. Similarly, commercial centres have been asked to hire private security guards and streamline parking areas at business centres. Meanwhile, Islamabad Police have also launched anti-beggary drive in the ICT to secure the public places.
