LAHORE Former national skippers have congratulated Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat for winning favours with the FTdTration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) which appointed him in the World Cup 2010 disciplinary committee. It is remarkable achievement and unique feat for PFF. Faisal showed courage, commitment and has served for the game a great deal, said Ghulam Rabbani, captain of Pakistan team which played against Burma (now known as Myanmar) in 1961. Shaukat Mufti, Pakistani skipper in Tehrans10 Day event and Karachis President Gold Cup in 1986, said : People from the departments in Pakistan stand behind PFF chief for his tremendous accomplishment. Tanveer Ahmed, skipper of Pakistan in First Islamic Games 2005, stressed that it is healthy sign as after AFC, FIFA reposed confidence on PFF Chief and awarded him illustrious post. Faisal ambition to prop up the game from grassroots level is amazing and now Pakistan is comprised of U13, U14, U16, U19, U21 and U23 teams besides the National team. There is abundance of footballers attached with PFF and I hope that Faisal will continue to promote football in Pakistan as he did during the past seven years with great strides, both for men and women, and due to which Pakistan is being recognized as respectable soccer-playing nation among FIFAs 208 members, added lanky stopper Tanveer.
