LAHORE - Following the deadly bombing in Mohmand Agency, the Punjab police have been directed to step up security around the key government installations and important buildings and sensitive locations across the province. Police sources said that the Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar on Friday directed all the Regional, City and District Police Officers across the province to remain on high alert in maintaining law and order in their respective areas. The IGP also directed the police officers to take effective precautionary measures, especially in the crowded public places, to prevent incidents of terrorism and subversion and ordered deployment of policemen in civvies in all the sensitive areas. He also directed the police officials to intensify armed patrolling around railway stations, bus terminals, bus-stops, markets, cinema halls, hotels, mosques, imambargahs, churches and other important places of big cities. The police officers have also been directed to utilise all available resources and their best professional skills to monitor activities of suspected persons. The people have been urged to cooperate with the police in this regard.
