Shab-e-Miraj marked with religious solemnity

LAHORE - Shab-e-Miraj-un-Nabi (PBUH) was observed with great respect and religious fervour in the City here on Friday night. The mosques, houses and streets were decorated with colourful pennants and buntings and were illuminated with electric lights, candles and oil lamps. People also visited graves of their near and dear ones, seeking Allah Almightys blessings for the departed souls. They prayed for the unity of Muslim Ummah besides offering special prayers for reinstating peace across the world and especially for the country and offered Nawafals and took fasts. Religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the teachings and various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and stressed the need of unity among the Muslims. They also prayed for peace and prosperity in the country. Meanwhile, the foolproof arrangements of security were observed at Data Darbar and other shrines and worship places on Shab-e-Mairaj in the provincial metropolis. The Muslims every year on 27th of Rajab (Islamic calendar) observe the Shab-e-Miraj in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH) went on a special journey to meet Allah Almighty.
