QUETTA - Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali, younger brother of former Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, has won the Jaffarabad PB- 26 seat by defeating his closest rival Mir Naeem Khan Khosa by a comfortable margin. As per unofficial results announced late on Saturday night, Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali, a former provincial minister and official nominee of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party, bagged 10,400 votes and his rival Naeem Khosa got around 6,000 votes. It was clear from start of the political campaign that nominee of both the federal and provincial governments will win the seat and Naeem Khosa had no chance. Only Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Provincial Minister for Services and General Administration, Government of Balochistan and also Chief of Jhalawan Tribes campaigned for Naeem Khosa for a single day. Jaffarabad was considered a hot seat where political rivals of Jamali and Khosa fought hot political and electoral battles for this constituency. The seat fell vacant after the degree of Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa was challenged in Supreme Court of Pakistan and later was declared invalid.
