LONDON: Sad news for poor old Elton John - he’s got appendicitis and he’s due an operation. The singer, 66, is expected to undergo surgery in the next few weeks in the UK. He’s on antibiotics right now, but his spokesperson has confirmed that not only will he be cancelling his appearance at Hyde Park this week, but he’ll also postpone his European tour. Sir Elton (yes, he’s a sir) was due to headline the Barclaycard British Summertime Festival this weekend in Hyde Park, but he’s now pulled out of that gig and will also reschedule his European tour. The British Summertime Festival will still go ahead, minus Elt.–DM
