ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government would confront all groups practicing violence in Balochistan with a firm resolve and determination in order to establish peaceful as well as set up political and democratic environment in the province.

A delegation of Balochistan National Party (BNP) led by its Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal called on Ch Nisar. The meeting discussed the overall situation of the country, especially of Balochistan.

The minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government was committed to empowering the people of Balochistan and that was the reason the party in spite of being in majority handed over the government of Balochistan to National Party.

He added that the difficult conditions in Balochistan required that all political forces in the province to work together to pull the troubled province out of current crisis.

He said that the federal government would support all political forces to resolve various issues through mutual consensus and dialogue and at the same time it would confront all groups practicing violence, with a firm resolve and determination, in order to establish peaceful, political and democratic environment in the province.

Mengal informed the minister about the undemocratic and unlawful acts against Balochistan National Party in the last 10 years.

He highlighted the acts of violence against his party in recent elections and said that despite these negative activities against his party, the BNP opted for political and democratic path and preferred to play its parliamentary role.

Balochistan has been under worst terror attacks in the recent days especially after the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz led government came into power in the Centre and a coalition governmetnt in the province. Scores of people lost their lives in various terror attacks last month.
