BAHAWALPUR-The Syndicate of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur (IUB) has approved students’ welfare fund here the other day.According to detail, under the students welfare fund, the one year fee will be paid from the fund if the under study students become victim of any disability due to any accident and in case of death, the parents or heirs of the deceased student will be given financial support of Rs300,000. The IUB Syndicate also approved the annual budget of the university for the fiscal year 203-14. IUB VC Dr Muhammad Mukhtar chaired the 54th meeting of the Syndicate which was attended by LHC’s Justice Altaf Ibrahim Quraishi, UAF Director General Dr Khalid Mehmood, Punjab Katch Abadies, Dr Khaqan Babar, Punjab Finance Department Director Local Audit Fund Iftikhar Uddin, Govt SE College, Bahawalpur Principal Dr Shafiqueur Rehman, Punjab Higher Education Department Representative Farzand Ali, DHQ Hospital Gyne Department Head Dr Bushra Sher Zaman, IUB Registrar Muhammad Ali, Dr Muhammad Afzal Khan, Dr Abdur Rauf, Dr Saeed Ahmed Buzdar and Abid Rasheed Gul. The meeting discussed various academic and administrative issues of the university and sanctioned different matters.The members of the IUB syndicate congratulated the IUB VC over the latest improvement in the provincial and national ranking of the university. It is worth mentioning that according to the latest HEC Ranking, the IUB has been declared top one in the South Punjab, 3rd in the provincial and 8th in the national ranking.
