The PMA Punjab Provincial Council has rejected the Punjab Health Care Commission’s taxation policy, termed it biased and conspiracy of bureaucracy. The Punjab Provincial Council met PMA President Dr Ashraf Nizami at PMA House Lahore on Tuesday. The meeting decided to resist the taxation system at every level. As a first step, the PMA delegation will meet the Punjab Health Care Commission Chairman to apprise him about the reservation of medical community. –Staff Reporter
The provincial council resolved that appointment of bureaucrats as chief administrators at hospitals would be resisted at every level and every district chapter will call their emergency meeting in this connection. The council formed a 15 member committee comprising associations and divisional representatives that would decide line of action against comission’s policies. The provincial councilors of Layyah, Muzafargarh, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Take Sing, Okara, Kasur, Shiekhupura, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sargodha, Chakwal and Lahore participated in the meeting.
