The Lahore Electricity Supply Company (Lesco) team has raided various localities in Samanabad division and caught 72 consumers involved in power theft.
The division in-charge Additional SE Anwar Qaseem said the raids had been conducted on direction of the Lesco chief. The deduction bills of Rs851,700 were sent to the persons involved in theft and their electricity supply was disconnected, said Qaseem, adding the FIRs had been lodged against the seven consumers involved in direct theft.–Staff Reporter
Meanwhile, the Lesco installed the first computerised power distribution centre to monitor the load management. The official was of the view the centre would help to conduct equal loadshedding at feeders. The new system would determine if power control centre involved in conducting unannounced loadshedding at some feeders and favouring the others. –Staff Reporter
