Former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has appreciated the consensus of political leaders on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that the unity exhibited by the political leadership foiled the nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan.

Talking to the journalists after a meeting with US ambassador Mr Richard G Olson, Gilani added that the vicious designs of Narendra Modi were thwarted by Pakistani leadership and nation who was confident that Pakistani political leaders would never unite on this issue. He condemned the genocide of Muslims in Myanmar and said that Government should take a stance on this brutality. He also urged upon the OIC members, Human rights Organisations and United Nations to take action for the security and safety of Rohingya Muslims .Former Prime Minister said that there are good relations based on mutual prestige and respect and Pakistan is a front line partner of America in a war against terrorism. He said that Pakistan had suffered irreparable losses in the war against terrorism, its 40,000 civilians and 9,000 troopers have so far been martyred in a war against terror. Our economy and defence badly hit .We are waging a crusade for peace and tranquillity. To a question Gilani said that China was not a friend of Muslim League-Nawaz but it is friend of Pakistan. He bitterly criticised the National budget 2015-16 which failed to provide any relief to the masses, Government employees and other sections of society. He declined to respond to a question about the recovery of Syed Ali Haider Gilani.
