Islamabad - A farewell party for the outgoing students of MA final year was hosted by students of MA previous year here at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, H-8, on Tuesday.

Principal Professor Khurshid Ahmed Shakoori was the chief guest on the occasion. The students of MA/MSc (Final) said goodbye to their college life in style, thanks to the farewell party that was organised by their juniors.

Several faculty members including vice-principal, chairman department of geography, chairman department of English and controller of examinations graced the occasion with their presence.

Professor Riasat Ali Abbasi, chairman department of geography, briefly discussed the major activities of the students during their stay at college and appreciated their contributions towards the department.

Cash prizes were awarded to the students who grabbed the positions in the Quaid-e-Azam University annual examination 2014. Hina Iqbal got a cheque of Rs 5,000 on account of grabbing the 1st position in MSc Geography Part-II. A cheque of Rs 4,000 was given to Raqia Manzoor who got the 2nd position (MSc geography part-II) in university examination. Abiha Kazmi (MSc geography part-II) was awarded Rs 3,000 being 3rd in the examination. Shahneela Shaukat, who was placed on the 1st position by Quaid-i-Azam University in MA English Part-I examination, got a cheque of Rs 5,000. Maryam Haleem also won Rs 5,000 by getting the 1st position in MSc geography exam part-I.

Shama Roshan and Rumesha Hussain of MSc geography part-I were awarded Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 cash prizes respectively for getting teh second and third positions in the university examination.

This was a very joyful event and the students added colours to it with their fantastic drama performance, parody, poetry and singing. Stage secretary played a major role in guiding the event. Memories of their two-year college life were brought alive by several photo clips that were presented on a multimedia to them. The day was a celebration dedicated to the years spent together with friends and teachers to remember happy moments.

The final year students were given mementos and interesting titles.

At the end, the Principal of the college wished the outgoing students success in their life.
