Four condemned prisoners were sent to the gallows in different prisons of Punjab early Tuesday morning.

As per details, two rapists - Abid Maqsood and Sanaullah, were hanged in Sialkot district jail after 18 years of their conviction. Both of the convicts had raped a 12-year-old girl in village Waan-Begowala, Sambrial tehsil on August 29, 1997. The dead bodies were handed over to the heirs after the execution by the jail management.

Later, they were laid to rest in their native graveyard near Begowala, Sambrial tehsil. In Faisalabad, a murder convict Muhammad Abid was hanged in Central Jail. He had killed Yasin over a longstanding feud in 1998.

In Sahiwal, a death row prisoner Nawaz alias Kaka was executed in Central Jail. The convict had killed a man over a petty dispute in 1995. It is to be noted that the number of hanged prisoners have reached to 120 since the government lifted moratorium on the death penalty.
