The other day, while driving down the Mall Road in Lahore, for a moment or two, I completely lost my sense of where I was. This was thanks to the colourful, giant-sized hoardings put up in front of the Governor's House, I thought I was in front of some Abbot Road cinema known for its lurid Lollywood posters. While reflecting on this show of rank bad taste on what has been an extremely dignified building, I thought of what the House On The Hill in Islamabad would be like if the trend continues. -DISGUSTED, Gujranwala, via e-mail, February 23.
