KARACHI - Anti-Extremist Cell and Counter Terrorism Unit of Crime Investigation Department of the Sindh police have disclosed the arrests of four alleged members of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and claimed to have recovered one suicide jacket, explosives, hand grenades and other weapons from their possession. Police claimed to have arrested the militants after an encounter taken place in Metroville area of the city. The arrests were disclosed on Wednesday during a press conference at Garden Police Headquarter. AEC SSP Omer Shahid said that they raided a house located at Metroville area and arrested four terrorists after an exchange of fire while some of their accomplices including TTP Karachi chapter chief, Qari Zaman, hardcore terrorist of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Qari Abid Mehsud, Tayyab Mehsud and Shujah Mehsud managed to escape. The arrested terrorists were identified as Musharraf, Sherzali, Hame-edullah and Ahmad Ali. Police recovered a latest suicide jacket, 32 kilograms C-4 explosive, seven hand grenades, one smoke bomb, one detonator, ten meters detonator wire, three Kalashnikovs, three TT pistols and drugs from the arrested terrorists.
