Encroachments nuisance hits Ichhra residents

LAHORE Despite the tall claims of the City District Government regarding removing encroachments from the provincial capital, the authorities concerned are reluctant to initiate any step against the encroachers of Chowk Javed Market in Ichhra police area. Mini markets, kiosks of various food outlets, vegetables venders and small tea stalls have almost covered the both sides of the main road. The apparent scene is quite pathetic. The local residents claimed the site often witnesses worst gridlock on the road and sometimes ambulances and rescue 1122 vehicles carrying serious patients to different hospitals are stuck into the traffic mess due to encroachment. The residents also staged protest demonstration against the illegal occupants and moved complaints to the offices concerned but none of them approached to address their grievances. After the victim-residents felt all the doors were closed for them the residents in collaboration with Tanzeem Aslam Moashra, Union Council 100/101, Javed Market, Ichhra reached the Chief Ministers Complaint Cell, 8-Club Road, G.O.R-1, here on February 22 and shared their issue. A citizen Mr. Muhammad Akram said that Director Complaint Cell Irfan Nazir has marked the application and moved it to the department concerned on very next day but none of the step to remove encroachments has been initiated till filing of this report.
