LAHORE - Hammad Azams superb all-round performance earned Federal Area first innings lead on the opening day of the Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup match against Sindh here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. Hammad first picked three for 59 to help bowl out Sindh for 202 runs in 37.2 overs and then batted well with unbeaten 60 runs to take Federal Area past opposition total. By the close of play, Federal Area reached 216 for seven with Hammad still on the crease. He hit 10 fours. Umer Amin (42) and Adnan Mufti (41) also batted well. Earlier, Faisal Iqbal (67) and Sarfraz Ahmed (53*) played well to see Sindh reaching 202. In second match here at LCCA ground, Punjab made 340 runs in the first innings for the loss of nine wickets in 96 overs. Ayub Dogar scored 68, Hafiz Saad Nasim 84*, Usman Salahuddin 61 and Humayoun Farhat 55. M Naeem took two wickets for 56 runs.
