NEW DELHI (Agencies) - A patient Yuvraj Singh (51 not out) helped India struggle past the Netherlands by five wickets in their World Cup clash at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi on Wednesday. After losing wickets at regular intervals, Yuvraj and skipper Dhoni resurrected Indian run-chase by adding an unbeaten 52-run stand for the sixth wicket. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to score 2,000 World Cup runs, reaching the mark by hitting three consecutive fours in front of legions of fans. Yuvraj slammed seven fours in his patient 73-ball knock whereas Dhoni was more conservative as he took 40 balls to score 19 runs, which included two hits to the fence. Chasing 190-run target, Mudassar Bukhari dismissed Gautam Gambhir (28) to make Indias run-chase more tricky and difficult as India were reduced to 139/5 in 23.1 overs. Skipper Peter Borren added more misery to India when he clean bowled Virat Kohli (12) in the fifteenth over after Pieter Seelaar took three quick wickets to halt Indias rapid march at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium. After dismissing Virender Sehwag (39) in the eighth over, Seelaar struck twice in the tenth to send Sachin Tendulkar (27) and Yusuf Pathan (11) back to the pavilion.
