KARACHI - An ASI was shot dead near Old Vegetable Market during a shootout in the limits of PIB Police here on Friday.
The incident took place near Old Vegetable Market a few steps far from Edhi Both when two bandits were looting valuables from citizens. The police on a tip-off rushed on the scene but upon sighting the bandits opened firing on them. Resultantly 40-year-old Raja Jalil received bullet injuries and died on the spot. Meanwhile, the bandits manage to flee the scene.
The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. The police officials said that victim was deployed in PIB Police Station and a resident of Brigade Police quarter. The deceased hailed from Rawalpindi. The police said at least three bandits were involved in the crime. Later, the police handed over the body to his family. No case could be registered till filing of the report.
