Customs holds workshop for cyber security

KARACHI - Pakistan Customs held a workshop for Web Based One Customs (WBOC) and cyber security by the Directorate General of Training and Research of Customs Karachi, here on Thursday.
According to spokesman, the Customs processes have been automated and are smoothly functioning under the indigenously developed WBOC software at various terminals at Karachi port. In line with World Customs Organization (WCO) theme “Borders Divide & Customs Connect” the Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs) has initiated interactive seminars and workshops to promote stake holders coordination in order to optimise revenues.
The  workshop was opened by Ihsan Ali Shah, Deputy Director highlighting the importance of WBOC and Cyber Security. The presentations made by the resource persons were appreciated by audience.
Stressing upon the need for making WeBOC more user friendly without compromising the system security Dr Jawwad Uwais Agha Director of Customs Training & Research gave his concluding remarks, assuring to hold more interactive workshops covering software module.
All the participants were also awarded certificates of participation.
