KARACHI - The lawmakers of Sindh Assembly on Friday criticized the Nadra, complaining that many voters, including some elected representatives, were wrongfully registered in far-flung constituencies. Even, thousands of voters of Sindh are registered in the Balochistan. Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah drew the attention of house, telling that over 7,000 voters of his constituency, Sehwan, had been registered in Kach area of Balochistan.
He said that he contacted the Nadra officials, but they were not ready to rectify (blunders) in the voter lists. He demanded that FIRs should be registered against the Nadra and Election Commission for the sheer negligence. He said that he believed that vote of Sindh registered in other provinces and other votes missing by design, which needed to be investigated.
Another MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio of PPP said that all members of a large family from his constituency were registered in Balochistan province. Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro in his ruling said that the Assembly secretariat would arrange the meeting with Nadra and Election Commission authorities to brief the lawmakers on voter lists issue on the next Monday.
