ISLAMABAD – Street crimes are on rise in the jurisdiction of Koral police, particularly in Ali Pur Farash, due to the lack of police patrolling and closure of police community centre.
This area has become a safe haven for robbers and criminals due to negligence of police and broad daylight robberies have become common, said Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Ali Pur Farash. “I was robbed of by a gang of robbers at gunpoint on the road at noon a few days back. No passer by came to rescue me and even policemen did not respond to my call for help, said Barkat Ali, a resident.
It seems as if proverb ‘Might is Right’ is in place in this area and thing like law enforcement agencies seem to be existing nowhere, said a lady teacher. Criminals snatch our purses and mobiles and run away in the open market but no one can take them to task, said Bushra Bibi, a housewife. This is all due to closure of police community centre Harran Mira, said a group of traders.
Residents demanded immediate restoration and reactivation of police community centre to control the crimes in the area.
