PESHAWAR - The government has completed a safe drinking water supply scheme for the community of Hidayatullah Koruna, Hassan Khel Ping of FR Tank.
The authorities concerned completed the project following demands of the local communities for access to potable drinking water, a press release issued by the Directorate of Information, FATA Secretariat said on Friday. The local population approached the FR Tank Political Administration stating that they faced an acute shortage of safe drinking water. The political authorities of FR Tank completed the drinking water supply system in a short period of time and installed two surface water tanks, dig-up a tube-well and installed a transformer that will benefit the local communities.
The release further added that the Political Administration has also completed construction of a flood protection wall for the community of Bakhtamir Kach in FR Tank. I was stated that seasonal floods pose a serious threat to the community.
The construction of wall will protect hundreds of houses from seasonal floods as well as many acres of agricultural land. It further explained that the Government was committed to fulfill the needs of the tribal people, in this regard projects in education, health, sanitation and public health sectors are underway, which will improve the standard of living of people in undeveloped areas.
