KARACHI - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Sindh leader Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro said that the rulers were not consulting the opposition parties for forming the caretaker setup in Sindh, which was an act of pre-poll rigging.

He said this during a telephonic conversation with JUI spokesmen Aslam Ghauri from Qatar on Saturday.

Soomro said that during the last five years, rulers were failed to deliver and lost the confidence of the people. He added that government is spending billions of rupees for their promotion in upcoming general elections but Election Commission kept their eyes closed without inquiring in this regard.

He said the EC remarked doubtful on its failure in ensuring the delimitation and voters’ verification process in province.

He said the JUI had welcomed the appointment of Fakhurrdin G Ibrahim as Chief Election Commissioner but now many questions were raised on the performance of the EC on its neutrality.
