PESHAWAR – Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Saturday that it is a fact that a single party will not be in a position to form the next provincial government alone, but at least three parties would make a coalition government together in the province after the coming elections.

It seems that one party may not win maximum seats in the province, thus it looks like that next provincial government will be formed by at least three parties together, he maintained.

At provincial level, there is no any big electoral alliance so far, as each and every party is making tall claims about its victory in coming elections.

Regarding the caretaker setup in the province, the Chief Minister said that consultation with the leader of opposition in the provincial assembly is at final stage. “Consensus will be developed in a couple of days on an impartial and sincere name for care taker chief ministership,” he explained. 

Hoti said this while speaking as chief guest at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected cabinet of Peshawar Press Club. Besides others, Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Secretary General ANP Arbab Tahir, Secretary Information ANP, Malik Mustafa and Secretary Information KPK Azmat Hanif Orkzai were also present on the occasion.

He said that for the first time in the history of the country a democratic setup is going to complete its constitutional tenure, which is a good omen for the better future of the country and stability of democracy in the country. Regarding the five year performance of the present provincial government; he said that at the stage of time he has nothing to say rather it will be decided by the public as elections were drawing nearer.

He said that holing election on time in the country is need of the hour. The ANP led-government, he said, faced different challenges. Terrorism is a big challenge and no individual can restore peace, but there will need collective efforts. He was of the view that journalism has become very difficult job and full of risks in the present situation when terrorism and militancy has hit every nook and corner of the country adding that the role of journalists of KPK to keep the people informed and to uphold the truth despite unfavorable circumstances and challenges, has been remarkable and laudable.

The Chief Minister said that the journalist had played a pivotal role in the war against terrorism and the war against terrorism and not have been a success without the active role of the journalist community. He acknowledged that there had been an important role of journalists in his five years of successful government as the journalists have always appreciated and supported the good decision of the provincial government; and at the same time have pointed out the wrong things which has helped the government to rectify the same and improve its performance.

Extending his congratulations to the newly elected members of the cabinet the Chief Minister expressed the hope that the newly elected president and his team would try their level best to come up to the expectations of the journalist community. On this occasion, Ameer Haider Hoti announced to increased the annual grant of Peshawar press club from three million to five millions.

The chief minister directed the concerned authorities to process a case to allot residential plots in government residential schemes to those journalist who have do not have plots in media colony. He also directed the commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar to take necessary steps to specify suitable place to shift the existing the building of the Peshawar press club as requested by the president of the press club.

Provincial minister Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain also addressed the function. Earlier, the newly elected president of the press club, Nasir Hussain, while addressing the ceremony shed lights on the achievements of the press club and requested the chief minister for financial assistance to the press club. He congratulated the provincial government for completing a successful tenure with brilliant performance. Earlier, the Chief Minister administrated oath to the new office bearers. Sowinears were presented to the chief minister and minister information by the newly elected president of the press club.
