MULTAN - The lawyers observed a black day on Saturday to condemn former president Pervez Musharraf's "what they described" as ambush on judiciary on March 9, 2007.
The black coats observed complete strike and boycotted courts as no lawyer appeared before any court of law. The lawyers hoisted black flags on bar buildings and brought out rallies.
Addressing the participants of the protest rallies, president of High Court Bar Mehmood Ashraf Khan and others said that Pervez Musharraf was a national criminal who breached constitution.
He said that the lawyers were committed to get him hanged as he committed treason and violated article 6.
LAND ACQUISITION FOR M-4: The land acquisition for M-4 Multan-Faisalabad Motorway between Nag Shah and Sham Kot Khanewal has been completed.
Sources disclosed that a meeting chaired by joint secretary to Prime Minister Malik Anwar was held in Prime Minister Secretariat where the officials of National Highway Authority briefed the participants on the project.
The joint secretary said on this occasion that the Prime Minister was very keen about South Punjab projects and all out resources were allocated for the timely completion of the projects.
The secretary asked the NHA officials to ensure on time completion of the project as well as quality of work.
