LAHORE – Christians staged a demonstration against the Badami Bagh tragedy at Lahore Press Club on Saturday.

Led by Human Liberation Commission Pakistan, the protesters called it the worst worst example of extremism and regretted that extremists converted the Qauid’s Pakistan into hideouts of miscreants.

They appealed to the United Nations to play their role over this act of barbarism. HLCP Chairman Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra felt strong concerns for the minorities in Pakistan, saying that the Christians were “under attack”.  Speaking on the occasion, Pastor Anwar Javed, Bashir Masih, Zeshan Masih and others said blamed the mishap on the government, saying: the Punjab lawmen did nothing to save the people, though the authorities had information about the attack.”

accused remanded: A judicial magistrate on Saturday sent the accused on judicial remand. A case has been registered against a young man Sawan Masih over charges of blasphemy.

Body found: Unidentified killers chopped a man into three pieces and escaped after throwing his body in the fields in the Manawan police precincts on Saturday.

Police investigators said that the body of the man, yet to be identified, packed in a sack was lying in the fields when they reached the crime scene.

The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy while the police are investigating to establish the identity of the deceased.
