FAISALABAD/KANGANPUR/MANDI BAHAUDDIN/OKARA/TOBA TEK SINGH/SHEIKHUPURA/HAFIZABAD/DG KHAN - At least eight persons including three women were killed and seven others injured in separate incidents of honour killing, enmity and road accident over the past 24 hours.

According to details, in Faisalabad a motorcyclist was crushed to death while his son sustained critical wounds in a road accident occurred in the remit of Gojra Police.

According to police, one Nazeer Ahmad, a resident of Chak 394-JB along with his son Atif was riding a motorcycle when a rickshaw hit them.

Resultantly, the man and his son sustained critical injuries and were shifted to hospital where Nazeer died while condition of Atif is stated to be critical.

In KANGANPUR, two persons including a 20-year-old girl were killed in a road accident on Kasur-Depalpur Road in Talwandi in the limits of Allabad Police the other day. The deceased were later identified as Rangers Superintendent Malik Tariq Awan and his daughter Waila Tariq.

The accident occurred when Malik Tariq along with his daughter, a student of MA Islamic Study, was on the way to Kanganpur from Kasur on a motorcycle. When they reached near Talwandi, a speeding tractor collided with the bike, killing both the man and his daughter on the spot.

In TOBA TEK SINGH, two labourers received injuries when roof of the under construction mosque fell over them in Zulfiqar Town of Pirmahal on Saturday. Both injured Afzal and Khurram Shehzad were shifted to Pirmahal THQ Hospital.

Similarly in MANDI BAHAUDDIN, the dead body of a 23-year-old girl was recovered from Lower Jhelum Canal near Head Rasul. Reportedly, locals spotted the dead body floating in the canal and informed the Police Post Rasul. The police reached the spot, recovered the body and took to DHQ Hospital.

In OKARA, youth gunned down his brother and injured his father over trivial issue here in Qadir Colony.

Reportedly, Mohammad Yaqoob, a worker, a resident of Qadir Colony received a sui gas bill of Rs4,000 which had been unpaid for the last three months. He along with his son Mohammad Rizwan was residing in a house jointly. He asked his son to make payment for his share of the bill amount. Upon which they had tiff. In the meanwhile Rizwan's elder brother Mohammad Farooq came in. He rebuked Rizwan at which he flared up and in fit of anger he pulled out a pistol and opened fire, killing Farooq instantly while his father sustained gunshot wounds.  On information, the "A" Division Police reached the scene and shifted the body and injured to DHQ hospital. The police have registered a case against the accused.

In SKEIKHUPURA, two people were killed and another sustained injuries in an exchange of firing between two rival groups over a land dispute here on Saturday.  According to details, Rajpoot and Malik groups of village Qila Shabdeve Singh had been locked in enmity over a piece of land since long. The Malik group attempted to take possession of the disputed land which was ensued by cross-firing between the two groups.

Resultantly Arshad of Rajpoot group died on the spot while Muzammal suffered critical bullet injuries and died in hospital. One Amjad suffered critical bullet injuries and shifted to hospital. The Manawala Police have started investigation against Rahmat, Nadeem, Dildar and two others.

Meanwhile in HAFIZABAD, a young woman was shot at and killed in village Dera Nasrullah (Wachhoke) by her brother for honour.  The police have registered a case against Bilal.  According to police, deceased Ayesha Bibi had contracted love marriage against the wishes of her family recently. Her brother Bilal had borne a grudge against the couple and opened indiscriminate firing, killing her on the spot. The Kassoke police have taken the dead body to DHQ Hospital Hafizabad for post-mortem.

In DG KHAN, a man was killed and his brother sustained injuries in a drive-by shooting here on Saturday. According to police, unknown gunmen riding a bike opened fire on two brothers in Rukni area, killing one of them on the spot. The other who sustained bullet wounds was hospitalised. He was later referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan owing to his critical condition.
