LAHORE – The All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) Saturday organised a colorful ceremony in connection with Women’s Day held at the APWA Punjab office.

Renowned fashion designer Fareeda Hassan was the chief guest whereas APWA Punjab Chairperson Ruhi Syed, APWA program manager Dur e Shahwar and number of students were present.

The event included the handicraft exhibition by women from different Punjab districts, stalls of food, products and dresses by different NGO’s, where as the poster paintings competitions, mehndi designs, cultural fashion show and flower arrangements also enthralled the students and visitors.

The fashion show students wearing traditional dresses from 1960’s to 2013 was the most favoured part of the event. Students belonging to different colleges including Government APWA College, APWA Youth College, Government College Samanabad and WISE College participated.

Addressing the ceremony, the chairperson said that the APWA was the only organization in Pakistan which was working for the women’s rights for the last six decades. She urged society to eliminate the discrimination against women.
