Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar said if Indian government does not give security assurance then the Pakistani team will not be sent to India to participate in the ICC World T20. “Indian extremists are threatening our team, which is not acceptable,” he said.

While addressing the press conference he stated that cricket cannot be played under threats.

“The security risk was very high in Dharamsala. Only Pakistani Cricket team has been targeted by threats. How can the team play properly under threats?” he asked. “It is Indian government’s responsibility to give complete security to our team.”

While talking on the issue of MQM and money laundering, the Interior Minister stated that a committee of FIA has been established on the issue with special reference to the Sarfraz Merchant’s interview.

“Sarfraz Merchant has been summoned by FIA and will be asked about the proofs,” he said. “If anyone else, including Mustafa Kamal, has proofs regarding the money laundering of MQM, they should come forward with them.”

Nisar said the cases cannot be fought through press conferences and rallies. “Proofs are needed to push these cases forward.”

The Federal Interior Minister added that the real case is in London. “The culprit is in London and all the witnesses are there as well. So we only can cooperate with UK government,” he said.

“Our government has fought the Imran Farooq murder case along with the money laundering case. A Judicial Commission has been established on the issue and the proper legal procedure will be followed”
