ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court today extended stay order indefinitely on election of mayor and deputy mayor of Karachi.
A three-member bench headed Justice Gulzar Ahmad also issued notices to the Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocate General Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa seeking replies.
Babar Awan told the court that the Sindh government was engaged in Supreme Court Karachi registry in connection with the Karachi law and order case; therefore, their representatives could appear in the case. He also said that polls for deputy major and major in K-P were held through show of hands and if the Supreme Court gives a decision against it, it will affect the polling method. He requested the court to issue a notice to K-P government to seek their pint of view.
The court extended the stay indefinitely.
