LAHORE -: A high-level Turkish delegation of Small & Medium Enterprises Development Organisation that called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Wednesday agreed to increase cooperation with the Punjab government in the spheres of technical, vocational education and skill training.

The delegation, led KOSGEB President Recep Bicer, also unanimously agreed with the CM to evolve a future strategy for the promotion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the province.

Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz said that all- out efforts would be made for producing skilled manpower, according to market needs. He said the Punjab government had fixed the target of making 2 million youth skillful during the next two- and- a- half years.

The CM noted that the promotion of SMEs was vital for strengthening the national economy. “The technical assistance by Turkey will be beneficial for preparing skilled manpower,” he hoped.

Recep Bicer, on the occasion, said that Pakistanis were their brethren and they would be happy to help them.

He assured full cooperation to the Punjab government for the promotion of SMEs, technical, vocational education and skill training.
